What’s The Best Software For An Online Trainer To Deliver Their Coaching

Now, today's video, and what I'm going to be taking you through is about what is the best software as an online trainer, online coach. There's plenty of options out there, which one is the best one is the common question I get. And what flows on from that question really is what the difference between an online trainer and an online coach is.

We had a comment down below, Jeffrey, cold here, NC. I'm sure it is. I just spoke to someone who is in Colorado he said it's quite cold there too, one of the guys on my team.

Now, what is the best software as an online trainer, online coach? And the flow on that flows from that is what is the difference between an online trainer, and an online coach? Super common question that I get. And really it comes mainly from those that are starting off their journey, whether they have got a couple of clients and they've had a system of servicing those clients and they're looking for a better way. Someone new starting from scratch and they're overwhelmed with all the options that are out there. Or like I said someone who's got some clients, they're struggling to scale, they feel they don't have the systems to be able to scale and service their clients in a great way, give an amazing service their clients love, but do it in a more leveraged way so they can work with more clients.

Now, I'm going to take you through the spectrum of softwares and ways you can deliver a service. Now, on the one end, the most simplest basic low-cost option is like a PDF or Google Sheets or Excel. Now, our first online fitness business, this is what we did, rewind about seven, eight years ago. There wasn't softwares, there wasn't apps, there wasn't any of these things. We were the first in the environment to be doing it. It wasn't really well known. And so we did a combination of a nutrition and eating plan for each client on a Excel or Google Sheets. And then we did a workout programme from them that we wrote up on a Word document and then saved as a PDF document, put our logos on it, put some images on it, made it look pretty, and then send it over to them. So that was the combination we did. And that was the most basic format. Now it's not overly systemized, it is quite admin heavy, but it was basic, simple, fast. And at the time it allowed us to grow to about $50,000. So it worked, but there just wasn't other options out there.

And then as we progressed and the years went on, things started popping up. The first one we tried was a software called TrueCoach, which at the time had a different name. Might have changed the name to TrainHeroic, I think it might be now. And that was quite cool. It worked quite well. It was our first jump into a software, an app option where you have a training library already preset in there. You can pick stuff, you can send it off to a client, you can have back and forth communication. And then from there we tested Trainerize, we [inaudible 00:03:23].

Now, they all work really, really well. And if your question is, which is the best one? Out of those three, I would say the most user-friendly that I've found is probably [inaudible 00:03:41] Trainerize right now. Now I will add onto that, that they're all fairly similar. As soon as one does one thing, they all watch each other and anything that's good, the competitor ones will just copy it. So realistically, don't get too hung up on which software, which app, if you're going down that path. Don't get hung up on it. Don't spend too much time, just pick one, maybe pick two, try them for half an hour if you like one move forward on it. That's not to get hung up on. Systems are there to help save you time, save you admin. And if they end up drowning and choking you, then you're using systems for the wrong reason. It's either too big a system from where you're at or you're trying to get too many bells and whistles that's slowing you down. It's supposed to be there to speed you up, now keep that in mind.

Now that throws us on to the next stage. And that is going from being an online trainer to an online coach and what does that actually mean? Now, an online trainer normally fills the position of an in-person trainer or a basic level of an in-person trainer. It's like helping give someone a training programme, a nutrition programme, and that's it. They go away, they train, they come back, you update the programme, they go away, they train, whatever it might be. That's, I guess, a 'trainer' and as an online trainer you can't charge as much cause the value you provide is not as holistic. Now, the leap from a trainer to a coach, a coach is someone who gives the training, the programme, nutrition, the actionable stuff, but also gives them learnings, accountability and coaching and the glue that keeps people going. The accountability, the check in, the help, the customization, and also learnings above and beyond just training and nutrition. Things that'll help educate that person so that they're able to make better decisions themselves and fill any of the other holes or traps that most people fall into.

And coaches can charge higher prices cause they deliver a more holistic service, more value. And most people will start in the online training space. And then over time, will want to evolve to the online coach. Platforms and softwares that work well for that. There's ones out there like Kajabi, ClickFunnels, there's so many other options out there. And generally, it's a combination of the training programme, the nutrition, but then a coaching portal where you may have videos and trainings on certain educational pieces that you can give to someone to help them outside of just their training. Whether that be how to beat cravings, how to build strong habits so that you don't self-sabotage, how to shop better, how to prepare your fridge, how to... All of these things that you think about where people fail outside of just having a... Training programmes and nutrition patient programmes work, but there's other areas that people fail that make that not work. And you are attacking those problems at a more holistic level. And it's like an educational platform to help them set up to be more successful, have a higher success rate. Not only do the stuff, get the result, but to keep the result.

And these things are quite easy to set up from a member portal perspective. Literally, our clients we give them a cut and paste member portal on that, two clicks of a button, they've got it set up. Now, if you haven't done it before, it takes a little bit time, which is why we give it to our clients, get rid of the tech pain, the annoyance, or whatever it might be. But once you've done it once or twice, or you have a template platform from a coach like myself, you can get something like that set up in an hour with little to no tech skill.

And you can go from charging good prices and delivering a good service to charging great prices and delivering a great service. And that's kind of the next leap of evolution. I normally say to people, "If you haven't got any online clients, start at the online trainer spot. You charge slightly lower ticket. Now, what I'm talking about is nothing lower than $1,000, but if you want to be charging like there's 3000, 4,000, 5,000 per client per package, that's where it leaps into the online coach evolution. But once again, if you're starting off, I generally recommend, unless you're an amazing coach who's super confident around, you've done some stuff in this space before and you, and you're able to back yourself.

I generally recommend to people to start around the training formats, quick to get up and running. It's somewhere you can cut your teeth, $1,000, $1,500 packages. And then from there, once you're getting clients, you've got some testimonies, you've got some more confidence in it, you can then take the leap of the evolution into the coaching side. And it's really just a little tack on when you know how to do it right and how to communicate the value, the service and the price to be able to close those very easily.

So hopefully that makes sense. Hopefully that answered your question, a very common question around, what are the best softwares out? Do not get hung up on it. Don't drown in complexity or so many options out there. Don't go cross eyed on it and then let that hold you up.

Pick one or two softwares if you haven't done them before. Spend no longer than half an hour looking at the two. And then just, which ever one feels better, go for that. Now, if you've been doing this for longer and you're like, hey, I want to look into other softwares because I've got clients and I'm finding it hard to scale, go through some of those options that I talked about. Alternatively, you can hit me up. Send me an email, [email protected], and let me know a little bit about where you're at, what you're getting hung up on, what you'd like to systemize more and I can come back with some straightforward direction on how to take that next leap in your business, have more impact, have more clients, have more freedom. And of course, have more income as a result of helping all of those people.

So that's it from today's video. Hopefully that helps. And like I said, any questions, shout outs, I'll be happy to help and we can go from there. Bye for now.
