Why I Have 2 Offices As An Online Trainer & Why You Should Do The Same

Why I Have Two Offices as an Online Trainer (And Why You Should Too)

Growing an online fitness business isn’t just about putting in more hours. If your strategy for growth is simply working longer, you’re setting yourself up for burnout and stagnation. In this video, I reveal one of the most impactful decisions I made in the last 5–6 years that allowed me to dramatically scale without matching that growth with the same level of time and energy.

The Problem: Growth Without Burnout

Let’s say your business earns $100,000 annually and you want to scale to $300,000. Most people think that it requires tripling their workload. But if you're working 5 days a week, 8 hours a day already, how do you realistically triple that? Spoiler: You can’t. Not without wrecking your health and performance.

You need to scale revenue without scaling effort linearly. That’s the name of the game for smart entrepreneurs.

Key Insight: Control Your Environment

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that your environment drives performance. When COVID hit, many of us began working from home. This created a dangerous blend between personal and professional life:

  • No clear separation between work and rest

  • Constant client messages bleeding into your downtime

  • Sleep disruption, stress, and burnout

  • Poor recovery = poor next-day performance

Solution: Two Offices for Two Purposes

I created two offices:

  1. A Dedicated Office Space

    • Distraction-free

    • High-efficiency environment

    • A mental trigger for "deep work mode"

  2. A Home Office

    • Offers flexibility

    • Close to the beach for quick recharges

    • Used with clear boundaries and schedules

Having two workspaces provides the perfect balance: freedom and focus.

Benefits of Having a Dedicated Office

  • Improved Focus: When you walk into a real office, your mindset shifts.

  • Clear Separation: You can fully disconnect at home, enhancing recovery.

  • Perception Shift: Clients (and you) view your business as more professional.

  • Motivation Booster: Tangible investments make your business feel real.

The Hidden Power of Real Investment

Most online businesses are intangible. No staff, no rent, just a laptop. That’s great... until it backfires.

Investing in a real office space:

  • Makes your business feel grounded

  • Increases your perceived and self-perceived legitimacy

  • Triggers a mindset shift: you’re not just "playing business"

Internal and External Credibility

  • When you treat your business seriously, others do too.

  • It creates a foundation for long-term thinking and delayed gratification.

  • You’re more likely to show up, do the hard work, and stay consistent.

Final Thought: It’s About More Than Just Money

Yes, a great office pays off in productivity and revenue. But more importantly:

  • It boosts your happiness

  • Fuels your energy

  • Extends your career longevity
